Summer in Lake Placid, Served Fresh

There’s something undeniably special about summer dining in Lake Placid – the crisp mountain air, the vibrant lakeside energy, and the simple joy of seasonal ingredients harvested at their peak.

At Marcy Bar & Restaurnat, and Cloudsplitter Rooftop Bar, indulge in the flavors of the Adirondacks with a rotating selection of locally sourced ingredients that elevate both our food and drink offerings. While not every ingredient appears on our daily menu, you’ll find them in our featured specials and seasonal cocktails throughout the summer.

What Local Ingredients Are Featured This Season?

Here’s a closer look at the fresh, local produce and ingredients that are helping shape our summer menus and limited-time dishes.

Locally Grown Strawberries

The highlight of Cloudsplitter Rooftop Bar this summer is the Strawberry Fizz — a refreshing seasonal cocktail made with strawberries grown right here in the Adirondacks. Bursting with flavor, it’s summer in a glass. Available in limited batches while the berries are at their peak.

Adirondack Wild Mushrooms

Earthy, rich, and farmed locally, these mushrooms are featured in select small plates and entrée specials. These local fungi bring umami depth and a touch of the forest to your plate.

Fresh Pea Shoots & English Peas

These early-summer stars add a crisp, green sweetness to salads and seasonal dishes. Delicate and refreshing, they remind us of Adirondack meadows at their greenest. Look for them in rotating specials.

Heirloom Tomatoes

Beautiful, vibrant, and full of character, heirloom tomatoes are a summer favorite. We use them in limited-availability specials like burrata salads, tomato tarts, and light pasta dishes that let their flavor shine.

Lettuce, Spinach & Arugula

Sourced from local growers, our leafy greens serve as the foundation for summer salads and side dishes. Arugula adds a peppery punch, while spinach and lettuce offer freshness and texture — often featured in our brunch or lunch specials.

Green Beans & Garden Vegetables

Crisp green beans and other garden veggies make appearances in rotating sides, small plates, and featured entrées — particularly as we move into late summer harvests.

A Note on Availability

We believe in letting the season (and our farmers) guide us. While you won’t find every ingredient listed on our standard printed menu, we’re constantly rotating specials to feature what’s freshest, most flavorful, and most inspiring in the kitchen.

Why Local Ingredients Make a Difference

Sourcing locally isn’t just a culinary choice — it’s part of our commitment to sustainability, seasonality, and community. Local ingredients:

  • Arrive fresher and taste better
  • Support small farms and artisans in the Adirondack region
  • Reduce our carbon footprint
  • Bring guests closer to the land and the people behind each flavor
